Kevin Cookson and his wife Melissa have two children, Alexia 14 and Alivia 11. Kevin grew up in San Jose, California and lived there until he and his wife decided to move his family to Grass Valley in 2011. After High School Kevin joined the “family business” and work for a title insurance company. He moved through the ranks starting in customer service, moving to sales and eventually running the customer service department for the company's Santa Clara County branches. In 2008 he decided to switch careers and obtained his insurance license. Kevin started his career at a firm in San Jose and after moving to Grass Valley started a business of his own in 2012. After some structural changes, Kevin and Melissa opened Maven Risk Management, Insurance Brokers in 2018 which is where he works today.

Over the years Kevin has been involved with many spectacular organizations. These organizations include but are not limited to the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, East Valley YMCA, KARE Crisis Nursery, 49er Breakfast Rotary Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nevada County and Nevada County Girls Softball. While Kevin’s business is insurance, his passion is for this community.

He loves working with and helping Non-profits thrive because he sees the need for them and loves to see them be successful. Although the last few years he has taken a step back from boards to focus on his family his outreach remains steadfast in the community.
